Getting the old Rig KOH ready

The old rig was in need of some work to make it Competition legal. When I first built it I never thought I would need 3"
over the top of my head with a helmet on. The whole top of the cage as well as all the door area needed to be redone. All the cage work that needed to be done is one of the reasons I didn't race last year.
I really wanted to race this year, and wasn't looking forward to spending days in the garage grinding, bending and welding. Thankfully
Rigwerks was ready to get on board and help team naxja out. They have done a lot of work for Goatman and wanted to lend a hand with
my rig as well. I jumped at the chance to have a real shop do some quality tube work on my rig. Now the only problem is their perfect joints
and tig welding make the stuff I did look a little haggard. Good thing the new stuff is all on top.

This is what it looked like Saturday before it went under the knife Monday.

After the tube work the rig still need lots of work to be race ready. It will take a while to get everything done. The list is long, but we are hoping to
put on a good show come February.

Couldn't you just lower the seats?

Looks really good. Wish you guys the best of luck in 09. It'd be awesome to have both rigs finish in the top 10, hopefully better. TeamNAXJA site looks good too. Whats the deal with the shirts? Im willing to buy a couple and help support...

Letterman from the here on NAXJA does the team web stuff. He does great work. The shirts will be on sale for 40.00 bucks. I know it's more than regular, but we are using the money to try and make the team more
competitive. Getting good race radio's is on the top of the list. The bold yellow will be so we can hopefully see people on the side of the course. We might be able to have remote pits and this would let us pick people out of a crowd.

If you all were ham radio operators, you'd be good to go with "race radios". :) Back channel me, we can get you guys setup.

Rig looks good,
Count on me for chase support again next year, I am looking forward to it!

I'll be posting up soon about how to get shirts. Between work, getting stuff ready for Moab, and KOH preperations, I've been a busy puppy. If you're ready to get shirts, go to the Team NAXJA website at http://www.teamnaxja.com/ and click on the "support" tab. You can see the shirts and the graphics. You can PayPal $40 to [email protected] and be sure to include your size and shipping information. You can also send an order and check in the mail to:

We should also have shirts in Moab, so if you're going you could get one there. Thanks in advance to everyone who takes a part in supporting our team effort.

Here's what the shirts will look like.

Just got a few update pics. Most of the tube work is done.
I'm extremely pleased with the work Rigwerks has done. I was
afaid raisinf the roof would kill my old lines. But I think it looks better.

So much time went into that shirt design, I had over 25 hours working on it when someone said "Garry and David are in the LCQ! David's rig needs to be on the shirt too!" . . .

Richard, Could you bring a XXL to Moab for me?

Dave(Letterman), the site and shirt look great.
Like I said elsewhere, that's the best shirt design you've ever done!
