Getting ready for my first lift want to make sure I got everything.

Cut the lower part of the link get a grade 8 bolt the same size cut it to the size you need and weld it togather just make sure the angle is forward.

I stand corrected. However, some Lift Kits IMO do understate their Lift Heights. Maybe OME, since it is a quality kit, will be the same and maybe not. I do not know, personally.

I did, however, make a few changes, in purple, to my previous post.

You might not need an Adjustable Track Bar until 3"s of Lift IMHO.
More than likely you will NOT need a Transfer Case Drop Kit until 4" to 4.5"s of Lift IMHO. You want to have as much Clearance under the Transfer Case as possible.

However, if you wish you can Install an Adjustable Track Bar and/or Adjustable Lower Control Arms at 3"s of Lift. You may or may not need them, however, they will be stronger and better than Stock. That would be your choice. I would at 3" of Lift. It will make your Lift Awesome IMHO.

JKS does make a trackbar, but it is quite pricey. I have a Rusty's trackbar and it does good. Before that I had bought a TNT Customs trackbar, unfortunately it was the wrong size but man that thing was HUGE.

thats what im getting ready to do, i just cant see spending 100 dollars on a set of quick disconnects when my stock one's work just fine after i modified them to be quick disconnects.

im a budget builder and i'd much rather spend less than 5 dollars for bolts and cut them into my current setup then to spend 100+ on one i'll outgrow and not come completly apart.

this setup works great if you dont mind a little noise from the pieces having a little slop and for 10 dollars in parts... i'll take this over anything else any day!

You don't need extended brake lines.
I have a 4.5" lift. I flexed it out to see how stressed the lines were and they were fine, but I relocated them to be safe.
Honestly, you won't need them.

And you won't need spring compressors either. Those are for %*&&#*$ and people that are putting in 6"+ coils.
A good kick gets them in and out just fine.

I know isn't it exciting? I dropped my XJ off 2 months ago at my mechanic in Western Mass (about 3 hours west of me) and hopefully will be able to pick it up this friday. Long story, but got my 2" OME installed, new head cylinder, new evap & heater core, leather heated seats out of a wrecked limited, and trailer hitch... can't f'ing wait. Funny thing is that I've been driving my mom's extra car, a 2001 Lexus RX300 with only 40k miles on it and all I want is my XJ back..

Yeah I'm pretty psyched.

I lived in Worcester for about ten years.
