Gettin inked...

Your inner arm will suck. But you'll get over it. I think gettin ink in an area that is super painful makes it a little less likely to get something stupid( unless your a complete moron).

What to expect? Depend on your artist and your hygeine(sp?). If you go to a crap artist and don't take care of it. Expect lots if money time and aggravation spent trying to 'fix' it. Do it right and pay for good work. If you get a good deal be sure to tip nice. That'll come back and help out down the road.

Outline is worst and color/shading is cake. Unless your artist bounces around and goes over same place time an time again. Then you get raw. Don't take anything. Man up. If you have to take something you don't need the ink.
Take care of you ink! And shave area BEFORE you go in.

X2 and depending on what you decide to "take", before you get your work done, can have adverse affects on the finished product (i.e. stuff that will thin your blood, can cause the ink to bleed out faster than the artist can apply it). Again, just man up and get the tat done "sober".

I'm gettin mine done by my friend's dad's friend, I know him through Jeep stuff... he had the rig with the completely custom tube chassis and body panels with gold colored tube at Zombiefest, if you were there. A couple of my friends have gotten work done by him and they're all happy with theirs, and they look pretty good. He's gonna let me know what he wants for it when he's done with the lettering.

Didn't think about that, that's a good point.

Not that I have a good 30 hours or more of ink or anything to base what I say off of, but if you numb before getting your ink you're a total pussy and shouldn't be getting a tattoo in the first place. I've got a tattoo running down my entire spine, 1 on each pec, a damn near full sleave on my right arm, my entire inner left forearm covered, and almost all of my right leg from below the knee to my ankle. I have never numbed or been drunk or any other stupid arse Pansy shite for any of my tats. You want to sport ink you better be willing to pay the price and take some pain. It really isn't that bad and you go numb on your own fairl quickly. Always pick a clean and respectable shop and always take good care of it afterwards.

My personal recommendation is to only use bacitracin with aloe, you can get it at walgreens. For the first day or two keep it covered with that and Saran wrap. Wash it very lightly with scent free soap in he shower, and don't scrub or scratch at it. I never swap over to lotion but you can after the second day. You want to keep it as moist with the bacitracin or lotion as possible so it doesn't scab. I even put the Saran wrap back on at night.

You want a tat, take the pain. If you don't your a poser arse Pansy bitch, plain and simple

No matter what, don't use a&d ointment or neosporin. They will both pull ink. I only have 1 tat that has ever faded out and it was the one I used a&d on. It was also my first and poorly done. The guy went too deep and scarred me up fairly good. It's been touched up twice but the scarrng won't take the ink

"I'm 'pretty happy' with how it came out/looks"

actually means:
"I'm ' not really stoked about it, it definitely could have been better, but I'll never tell you I'm not content' with how it came out/looks"

I got my shoulders/wrist do e when I was still in HS and under 18 from a friends dad who owned a shop. While not bad I'm not crazy about them.

When I got my ribs/stomach done. I knew what I wanted and could almost draw it out in my head with every detail. But the artist who did it, I wanted to free hand it. Why? Cuz I LOVED his work. The tattoos he did really caught my eye. His lines were flawless and his style was very 'old school' like I am Into. I saw him do hundreds of pieces and saw hundreds more. I walked in knowing what I was getting even thi it was free hand. Follow me?

Granted I've seen a 16 y.o. Girl here in the springs do just amazing work and shop owners I wouldn't let tattoo my ass, I think you may want to really look into who is doing what to your body.

But that's just my opinions

MR COOL ICE!!! i havent seen that picture in forever haha.

btw, i have 9 tattoos... they all had their moments of pain, especially the ones on my chest, and the one on my back that I got when I had a sunburn...

honestly, the more painful, the better the memory of getting it, and the more you appreciate it. If tattooing was painless and simple, then everyone would have shit all over their body. Its the fact that its more than just skin deep, it hurts like hell, and its there for life that makes a tattoo a tattoo.

Just dont get a gay ass tribal tattoo. I got one around my bicept when i was 17 and I regret it every time i look at it. It means nothing to me, and makes me look like some guido meathead jock.

Don't take any pain meds. Dont be a wuss. Get it done. :)
