ive got a 24 front and a 15 rear bar on my xj. im doing the rest of the suspension now, and i need new sway bar bushings. should i get some now, or wait for a 28f and a 22r bar? i went through all the local junk xj's and all had same bars as mine or smaller. how hard is ti to find the bigger bars?

I believe XJ models that came with the UpCountry offroad package have 28mm front antisway bars. Otherwise you could buy Addco aftermarket front and rear bars with urethane bushings. Shoot an e-mail to [email protected] (his name is Nick Ianuzzi and he runs a company called Multitronics in Scottsdale Az) and ask him what's available for the XJ. Tell him Dino sent you. Great guy, great customer service.

Also my 88 Limited (not Up Country) has the 28mm front bar. Unclear on the rear, it met a greusome death by chopsaw and burial in the scrap metal dumpster.

im running a 28 up front and im modifiying a 24mm front to fit in the rear.....its getting in the way of stuff tho, ill post pics eventually

Bushings are not all that much money so I'd just get some good used bushings from the yard on the cheap/free if I was actively looking for a 1 1/8" bar, that way just get new ones when you do get the big bar. I am running that bar on the front with no rear anti-sway, 3" lift, 31's w/ 4" Backspace on 15x8's...handles like a champ.
