Hey guys I just bought a 96 Geo Tracker as a daily driver to give the Wagoneer some rest. I was wondering if anyone knows any sites or messageboards like this one for the Tracker?????

Thanks!

Just about any ZUk board. The unit is a Suzuki Sidekick with "Americanized" tail lights and a GEO emblem. Parts available at any Chevy or Suzuki dealer. If you go to a Chevy dealer, tell them it's a Tracker, if a Zuk dealer, tell them it's a Sidekick. Chevy dealers really get pissed off if you ask for Suzuki parts :laugh3:

Here is a link to a place that sells "upgrade parts" for your Tracker. http://www.puresuzuki.com/sidekick_tracker.htm

The 1.6LEFI with the 5.13 gears really crawls for a stocky.
Bad thing is with IFS simply does not flex, also lift kits start at $600 for 2" of lift.
Add to that the cost of tires and the lack of cargo space...

Thanks! It really doesn't need anything right now but I always like to be educated on the vehicles I own.

Geo was kind of a market test before the vehicles were incorporated as Chevys. Got my start wheeling (and driving) in a 94 Tracker. Little thing went everywhere I pointed it and surprised quite a few people with its rock climbing abilities and sand running. I loved it. Unfortunately the Kia in front of me did too and they got very up close and personal at a high rate of speed...That led to my Samurai (the one I bought was a waste of $500...ran on three cylinders and even without the auto fal for a check engine light, it couldn't pass emissions...) but now I have my XJ, best vehicle I've owned.

Anyways, back to the Tracker, shouldn't have much issue with breakage. In the course of 10 yrs and 140k miles, we had a bad EGR valve, a bad spark plug wire and a burnt up clutch from me learning to drive stick and teaching 4 gils with it as well as me learning to wheel a manual...oh yeah, and I snapped the exhaust on a rock once too...Thing was very reliable, fun and gave me 26+mpg no matter how I drove it

The nearest Geo dealer is at least 100 miles away. JIM.
