Gear Pattern Check

Still a tad deep, it will run hot this way and could lead to failure down the line. The more work you put into getting it perfect now the less chance you will have noise or worse a R&P failure. Another .002" should do it.

Thanks. I think I'll take your advice and try taking out .002" I'm waiting on the shims you sent me before I do it though. I had to order a .030" oil slinger from Randy's because mine was .060" and I was out of room to work with. Hopefully your shims and the slinger will come today and I can post some new pics up tonight. Thanjks again.

Randy's sent me the outer slinger instead of the inner slinger, so now I'm again waiting for the slinger....... John, I'm nervous about running it with no slinger since it's a high pinion model. Have you ran a hp with no slinger before?

Yeah, I had mine setup that way for a while because I destroyed the slinger removing the bearing cup. It was fine for a while but I put one in later on. If it's a short wait go ahead and put it in.

I did put the magnet inside the cover. I'm pulling the cover this weekned to change fluids. I didn't snap any pics of the final setup, but it was centered heel to toe and top to bottom. They have been ran for a little over 500 miles with no problems or too much heat. The new lockers front and rear make it feel like a tank!
