Hey guys I just got some gears and front locker and I need them installed was wondering if you could give me some shop names that do good work for a great price thanks. (I live in Newark)

Rear End Specialties
Address: 1040 Di Giulio Ave, Ste 350, Santa Clara, CA 95050, USA
Phone: +1-408-988-3619

the guys in the shop are really cool. i was there last week to have a HPD30 done with gears and a trutrac. the bolt on the trackbar mount was completely stripped and rusted. the one mechanic and mike (mgr) stayed after hours til 7pm (they close at 6) helping me get it off. they ended up welding a nut to the bolt head, twice because the first weld didn't hold, in order to get that sucker off. i dont know how to weld so i was very very appreciative of their extra time and effort. (mention that story to them, they'll remember me.. lol!!!)

and they gave me a good price on the trutrac too!

Rear End Specialties did my first gear install in a dana 30.

No Pinion shims were installed, only lasted for about 24 days of wheeling.

Maybe they thought it was like a crush sleeve?

Gave me a great price of $150 an axle if I took the axles out and dilivered it to them with all the parts and a new install kit.

The install might not have been the only reason it failed, but the guy that now works on my gears was shocked at the poor job that Rear End Specialties had done.

Wow that doesn't look good:gee: where do you go now? has anyone heard of the rear end shop in livermore? any other info on places would be awesome. thanks for your guys help,Thanks Skim

I had mine done by a guy named Dave at Murray's in SM, he's factory trained and very experienced. He isn't cheap, but he did an excellent job on my 4.56's w/lockers on a D44/D30. No whine, feel solid. If you can afford it, I would recommend him. The shop is on S. Claremont in San Mateo. The owner's name is Kieran, he could give you an estimate on what it would cost, tell him Ed from Cal Security referred you.

honestly if you can find someone in your area that knows how, have 'em teach you, it's not super difficult, just really time consuming

Mark in Brentwood did mine. Used to do warranty work for 4WP, Oakland. You can find him on Pirate under the screen name Weldmn. Very affordable, great job and nice guy. PM me for ph. # and additional details if interested.

That guy is Dysfunctional and likes goats.
Shit Jes, how did you know. He was kinda impressed when I drove by to check on progress in my Goat.

Mark on pirate is unable to do it he said he is to bussy with his buggy :tear:. and the shope in SM is way to expensive. If there are any other places or people please let me know i need to get these installed. A guy on pirate got his done at the rear end shop in livermore has anyone heard about them.
Thanks for the help

A guy I know got his hot rod rear end done here:

We tried to do it ourselves first, and went to these guys with questions twice, and they even gave us free shims, nice guys. After a couple suspect patterns he decided to have them do it.
