Gear clinic!

Sorry i couldnt make it John i had work but i did swap to the open cooling system, what a difference...

I worked on the write up all last night, but i'm finding out that technical writing is not one of my strong points. I'm now debating on weather to do one at all as I would hate to give out inaccurate info or mislead anyone... :dunno:

Sorry I didn't make it either. Some other stuff came up that I had to deal with around the family business. not to mention that it was probably pretty damn hot out there.
Next time you guys want to have a gear clinic. Let me know. I live on the coast and I have all the tools... the only thing I provide is the adult beverage. your on your own for food, snacks and kids drinks.

I hope you found it useful like I did .No worries about the plate. Add it to your collection of tools that you use for gear installation. I have more 1/4 plate that I can make another one with.

Glad to hear that you got it all complete. I will try to make it to yor wrench fest. just let me know when

Leep

Thanks everyone for coming, it was a good time. I hope everyone was able to learn something usefull. Leep, I have the plate for the dial indicator still. If you need it quick I can send it to you. I finally got the job done late Sun afternoon. It'll take me a month to get rid of the stench of 90 weight oil from my garage! I decided to weld in a threaded hole for a real fill plug on the rear cover and paint it. I also replaced the t-case front output seal. Let's get together again for a wrench fest. I plan to take the whole front clip apart in Sep and move the radiator forward as far as I can and do a modified version of a Taurus fan install.

Let's get together and work on the write up. Technical writing happens to be one of my strong points.

It ight be a good thing you didn't make it. If you saw how many times I had to take the D30 back apart to get the shimming right :dunce: you might have wondered about me! We had a good time though. I'll be posting pics of the final gear patterns as soon as I get all the pics and time enough to post up.

How are those new gears feeling? I bet it flattens out those hills!
Let us know.

It's like night and day. Of course I'm babying it now during break-in. I can't wait to run up some sand washes and steep hills to see how it handles it. Also can't wait for desert season and the drags!

That's right...i've been a little busy and it completely slipped my mind.

John...I'll email you the write up along with the pictures I have. Then you can make and additions or corrections and get this posted up finally...
