For all those that complain about getting crummy mileage and having to pay too much, do you think you are going to save that much by going out and buying a different vehicle?

Consider the fact what someone said previously: If you spend $1500 on a more efficient vehicle, that puts you $1500 in the hole, and you can buy 500 gallons @ $3.00/gal and travel 5000 miles for that $1500.

What you need to do is find a good woman with car so you can just use her's and park the Jeep for a bit.

Ahh eat me. I hit the fricken caps lock button when I was typing then hit tab instead of the cap locks to correct. The tab highlighted the submit and when I hit enter, the post was made. As you can see it is now edited.

Ahh, that makes more sense now. :D As for eating you, I will pass. Got some ribs in the marinade right now, and on to the smoker/bbq very soon. :)

I don't understand gas prices. We were paying 2.17 a gallon for regular unleaded two weeks ago, over memorial and this week, it dropped to 1.89 a gallon. Now today, it magically jumped back up to 2.07 a gallon. Pick a price darnit!!!!! :bawl:

What's happening now is even more unbelievable than the company-engineered "shortages" of the mid-70s. Yesterday gas at my local supermarket (cheapest gas around here) was $2.11. At noon today it was $2.16. At 5:45 today it was $2.19.

They're not even trying to relate the price to what they pay for it any more. They just jack it up a penny every hour on the hour, or so it seems.

I don't know about your area, but as of June 1 in the Denver area we are running 'summer gas' which supposedly costs an extra 5 cents or so per gallon. That's a great addition to the mess...

At least we are not doing rationing by license plate numbers. That Odd/Even stuff sucked.

hows 2.34 sound?

excellent, just in time for a cross-country towing trip.

And you were complaining about tolls :laugh2:

I hope I can get to NACfest on less than 100 gallons :bawl:

Edit: I paid $1.92 in Kentland IN on Sunday

lol beez. my tow rig is gona take more than 100 gallons probably. 460 bb v8 and pulling my rig is gona take quite a bit of gas. but hey dual 35-40 gallon tanks works for me.

git up front bytch....I'm drafting behind the motorhome.
And I'll be right behind any convenient semi. It is amazing what a difference drafting can make. I've noticed 4-5 mpg gain on the readout in the ZJ.

I guess the 'burbs may be good for something!
$2.09 this a.m.

Don't say that too loud. You'll just give baldy one more reason to bomb the 'burbs.

Well I filled up this morning at 5am at the local Exxon, 2.13 a gal. by 11am when I drove back by there 2.19 a gal for reg. 2.31 for super. The owner told me this morning that it's not going to stop and they don't really have a whole lot to do with the prices. I kind of laugh now because this whole thing is a scam, drive a few miles the other way from me and 1.99 for reg. at a different Exxon. Oh well, you have to drive or at least I do to make money. At least the wife has a good little mpg car I can drive and rest the XJ. Juice
