Gas leak

I have a gas leak coming from on top of the tank. What would cause a leak abouve the tank. Im thinking an old fuel line but thats just a guess. I have not dropped the tank yet to track it down.

I can't really remember the lines that are above the fuel tank, but maybe the fuel filler hose? I know after a certain year the fuel pump was moved to the top. Maybe there is something there? Mine is in the front so I don't really get up there.

Pre plastic tank had 2 vents on the top held in with rubber grommets. Or your tank is bad.

Mine had a leak from the sender unit seal. You'll probably have to drop the tank and see if the large nut holding it together is loose. If it's not loose then RockAuto sells the seals for cheap...
