Will a failing regulator cause poor running/mileage? Mine is bad and despite new tuneup parts etc it's running rough and I've dropped a couple mpg.

While it may cause the problems you describe,I would look to replace the O2 sensor as that WILL cause that problem.

O2 is on the list to PM but it needs fuel to run so I can go buy the O2. It'll happen later along with brakes,axle seals,body repairs.........
