Hey,

Anyone a member stationed at Ft Carson? I just got my first XJ (it's my first 4WD vehicle for that matter) and I'm looking to get more involved in the community.

I live in Canon City and am in the Navy Reserves. I do not drill at Carson but I do go there often for Commissary & Exchange privilages. Let me know if ya need anything.

I am glad to see there are some XJ fans in the Springs area, I was beginning to worry everybody who cared drove wranglers. ;)

Question though: I am itching to try out the lift I just got and I am looking for a trail that is pretty easy and not jam packed with snow in the Springs area. I did the lift, but not the tires yet because the ones on the vehicle are pretty new and I'm on a budget so no snow tires.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanx ahead of time.

Welcome to Colorado. Right now might be hard pressed to find a trail not packed with snow. The mountains have been getting a good amount of snow. Give it a week and at the low altitudes that can all change however. There are a few easier trails up off of Gold Camp Road. Keep in touch and hit us up if interested in doing a quick run.

you can always try and sell your tires on here or craigs list then "IF" you do have the rest to make up for a new set then try to up grade.

I live up in the mountains about an hour west. Maybe this spring we can do an XJ meet at my place and I'll show you guys a BLM area I really like and not too many others know about.

Drove a little ways up Gold Camp road yesterday afternoon right before that storm was coming in (not a good idea) and had to turn around. The temps dropped and made the road super slick, but it was still fun. Thank god for engine braking.

Greenjeep, is that 4th ID or 2nd?

Cisek, where is the eagle rock/saran wrap area? And let me know if it was too packed, though it probably is after the last two days.

Also, we should get together this summer and do a trail run around Pike's. What do you all think?
