But I will decide how I spend my money and to get a used one (not the problem) and to have it for a model 3 years off from mine all to save $15 is not wise in my opinion.

Just an FYI, you should always buy an FSM that is at least 1 year newer than your rig so that you are getting any and all updates that may have happened during your model year.
Do a search. I downloaded my 97, 99, 00 & 01 factory FSM's online. It took several hours even with a high speed connection but the pdf manuals are 100% complete.
I also got a copy of the 97-00 XJ parts number lists online.
