Front Wheel Bearings

Well I jacked my tire up the other day and did the balljoint test because I was getting some vibes from the front, the wheel had LOTS of play in it. So I took off the wheel and looks to me like its the bearings seeing how only everything from the rotor to the stud moves. No balljoint movement. My question is can I replace the bearings easily or do i have to replace the whole hub assembly. Thanks .

It is a non-serviceable unit bearing hub, held into the knuckle with 3 bolts from the inside... you'll have to remove the cotter pin, shaft nut and those bolts and then remove the unit from the knuckle. It is a snug fit (rust doesn't help either) so it is a good idea to get a spare set of bolts and use the old ones as sacrificial removing bolts... leave them partially threaded and hit them with a hammer to persuade the unit out; save them for future use.

Don't forget to soak in PB Blaster for a week and to coat the bolts with antisieze when reinstalling.
