front seat question on my 04' TJ

I just got my TJ back from the shop. The whole interior was replaced. When I went to tumble the front seats forward to look at the back I noticed that the mechanism that you pull up was on the inside of the seat (the side oppisite the window) on both driver and passenger seats. The latch that reclines the seat is still on the outside, cause if it werent the center console would be in the way. I just dont remember having to lean across the seat to reach the latch to tumble the seat forward. Is this where it should be?

Nope, all of ours are on the outside next to the doors on our 97's

They replaced the stock seat covers so I think they put the seats in the wrong sides. Just the backs of the seats because the botoms are fine. I knew something was wrong unless they changed something in 04'. thanks for the reply.

I know this is a little late, but If you 04 TJ's seats are made like ours you should be able to easly fix it by pulling the seats out, and swapping the brackets from side to side.
