Outer Pinion Bearing?

Ok so I think I have narrowed my vibe problem to the front outer pinion bearing and seal. Its leaking diff fluid, but only when the drive shaft is hooked up, thats also when it viberates. Take shaft off and no vibes, so now the big question. How hard is it to change that bearing? I had 4.56 gears installed about 10,000 miles ago, it is possible that they put them in too tight or loose? Now that I am in Gainesville, FL for the next 3 to 4 weeks, I can't take it back to the shop that did the install. I need to do this as economical as possible, so any ideas and info would be great. Also do I need to pull the carrier to change the outer bearing and seals? Right now the axle pinion is directly pointed at the t/c so I figured this would take of the vibes early on, but it always had some vibes in 4wd, but not in 2wd, except when driving above 65mph. So I am at a loss, looking for any and all ideas. TIA

My experience would say your problem is an out of balance or bent front drive shaft. That would explain everything. Have it checked.

If you put it in 4wd w/no shaft and you don't get vibes, I would think shaft. It is possible that the outer pinion bearing is hosed, but if it is, it most likely is because of an out of balance shaft. Is there any side to side play in the pinion yoke?

there is no side to side or any play in the axle pinion, but it does look like it is leaking fluid, could an out of balance shaft mess up the seal?
