I have a 99 XJ that has recently went up from a 4.5" lift on 32's to a 6.5" lift on 35's. i obviously have a SYE in the rear. But my question is do i need a longer front drive shaft for the front now??? It's a 4.0 with a NP231 with a long arm lift on it if that helps. Oh yes i did a search.

If you only raised it then the stock shaft is fine. If you also moved the axle forward significantly then you might want to think about a new one.

A(sq) + B(sq) = C(sq) where the lift is B(sq), and driveshaft is C(sq)

Thanks dude....Any idea if a factory drive shaft from another Jeep will work or is aftermarket the only option? Also what aftermarket shaft that wont totally break the bank account?

I have a 2000 xj aw4 231j dana 30. My front driveshaft measures 29 inches center u joint to center u joint running length. I am having a hard time finding a new shaft. All that are close to that length say for a manual trans. My 98 xj has the same length. What am I missing?

Do you have a low pinion or high pinion? It should be LP from the factory.
