Front Diff terminolgy question

Whats the proper name for the seal where the front drive shaft comes out of the differential? I noticed mine is a little wet looking. I was reading a post calling it a pinion seal, but wasn't sure if it was the same.

I checked my level, its good but I'll probably want to go ahead and fix it.

if it doesnt leak enough to spot the pavement, and it just creates a damp area that collects dirt i'd leave it alone until it starts actually making a mess. just keep checking the level.

Until the pinion leak shows signs, on either the floor or level, leave it alone. When you do do-it, get a manual and follow the instructions. Especially the tightening specs and instructions. also make sure it's not actaully run-off from the vent.
