anybody have any experience with air bumpstops on a xj mostly used in the rocks. I've got some fox 2.0's which are valved 30/90. I was thinking that maybe some air bumpstops would allow me to keep the soft compression throughout the range of travel until I hit the bumpstops. I would like to be able to cruise around a little faster than the shock valving will allow me to now and was thinking would act as a secondary firmer suspension.

It's quite a bit of work mounting air bumbs on an XJ. What kind of shocks do you have? Getting better valving and spring rate doesn't mean you must also have a stiff ride. There are plenty of XJ's out there that can go fairly fast and yet have a good ride.

Yes, you can do that. To really make it a secondary suspension you'd need 3-4" of air bump. If your valving is pretty light you'll hit the bumps pretty often and there is an annoying clack when they hit.
