I was thinking about doing something similar with mine. make sure on full stuff on that side that the top of the tire doesnt interfer with it. I ended up not adding it in mine, its hasnt gone anywhere yet wheeling. if I ever feel the need, ill build a brace from the bracket to the opposite framerail like RE does.
That's a good option as well. I may look into that this evening to see if that would work.... There's a lot going on under there at the moment, it might interfere with the, axle, drag link, oil pan, ect.
i cut mine in the bandsaw then held the splines in my lathe and machined off the old weld and tubing till it looked somewhat like yours. then i tapped it into the driveshaft tube, put it back in the jeep with an indicator on it. then i spun it and tapped it around till it ran concentric. then i did a small tack weld, rotated it and checked it again for runout, and tacked it about 1/3 of the way around the tube. then i repeated the process till i had 3 tack welds, evenly spaced. then i lay a bead all the way around. takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish and so far so good. i've done both my front and rear driveshafts and never had to balance them afterwards.
I had thought about sleeping something over it, but I too decided to be even lazier.
Atleast stock shafts are cheap when you can find them
Wait, e350 semifloat? That's probably either an e250 semifloat or an e350 fullfloat... AFAIK they never used a semifloat 60 in the e350.
Nice axle, though. I bought one (e350 fullfloat D60-1SU) to flip, only got interest from idiot tire kickers and dreamers, and ended up deciding to keep it for my jeep.
it was my axle, the guy i got it from converted his van to 4x4 with superduty axles and pulled out the d60. I saw the van and it was most definitely an E350, unless he just put the tags on there. But the ad was for an 06 E350 dana 60. no clue, other than that.Wait, e350 semifloat? That's probably either an e250 semifloat or an e350 fullfloat...
