fitting 33s?

If you don't need flares its do able, but most state laws require flares. I had to hack my fenders to fit 33's with a 4.5" lift.

slight trim (maybe none) and more bumstop and I know 33x12.50s should work on the RE 4.5" with flares. I could run a 36" tire with the way my XJ is now.

I would definitely get some wheels with better backspacing. Not only will it make things easier, but it will give you a wider stance. Which will help keep your Jeep more stable then if you just went with tires that are 10.5 wide. At least when I have lift I like to add more width to go along with it.

The following is just my opinion which I am sure someone will correct for me. I am also running the rubicon tires and wheels. from what I remember they have 5" backspacing. I do not rub anything right now. In the future I was planning on getting a tire in the 285/75/16 size, which I think is roughly a 33x11.5 tire. and since my 245/75/r16 are supposed to be roughly 31x10.5, I would think that you would only be adding, at the most, 1/2 inch to the inside width of the tire. Which if did rub, you could put spacers on the steering like many have done before. My vote would be to keep the rubicon rims.
