I went to the junkyard and pulled out all the dashes for every 87-90 i could find. I also checked out a 91.

The lights in the main dash area are a 194. There are 9, plus 3 (Two turn signal, and one high beam).

Everything else is a 74 that goes into the twist bases...

The Indicator lights for "Part Time", "Full Time", "Brake" etc, are all 74's There are 10 total slots, but only approx 5-6 are used depending on the options you have on your jeep. Two of them had black faces, so they probably are never used.
Here is what they all are:

Check Antilock, Emiss Maint, Part Time, Low Washer, Full Time, Up Shift, Brake, and Fasten Seat Belt (Which is the picture of the person in a seat with a belt shown going across the chest and lap).

This list pretty much worked for my '91. You forgot the 194 in the glovebox, the two 194 bulbs in the shifters, and there are the overhead lamps too. Since the lenses are color specific I also ordered red, amber, green and blue bulbs for the appropriate places. Here is the complete list for my 1991:

If you have the original year overhead console, you have four 906 bulbs in the map lights, and one 561 bulb in the cargo light. Some (if not all) of the late-model overhead consoles had 212-2 bulbs in the map lights.

I do not know what is in the visor vanity lights because I threw mine out and haven't replaced them yet.

A couple of things specific to my switch... The little 74 bulbs in the twist-lock housings like to get stuck and break--the black twist-locks have a little hole in the back that you can use to push a toothpick through and pop the bulb out from the rear while the grey ones don't seem to have this. The 194 bulbs I used for background lights had five LEDs and do not fit in the small holders for the shifter housings. Also, the bulbs I used for the turn and bright indicators are super bright, and I am replacing them with the white bulbs. I also have a couple of indicators where the light does not go out fully (Check Engine and Maint Reqd) so they kind of glow... no idea what that is about.

Overall very pleased with the results so far though.

I got a 99 cherokee, I was looking for the kick panel lights and couldn't find any. I'm guessing its the harness is hidden somewhere? also do these jeeps come with a glove box light as well?

I wonder if those empty spots were reserved for XJs with the System Sentry option.

I got a 99 cherokee, I was looking for the kick panel lights and couldn't find any. I'm guessing its the harness is hidden somewhere? also do these jeeps come with a glove box light as well?

Driver's side: look in the area above the hood release; it's an opaque bell-shaped thing possibly behind the OBD-II connector.
Passenger side: Should be up above the fusebox, same bell-shaped thing as on the driver's side.
Glove box: don't appear to have one on my 2000, and don't recall having one on my '01 either. Could be that the light's just blown and I'm not looking in the right place.

my 93 has a glove box light, and the kick panel wires are there. mine were pink and yellow. they have a fancy little connector on em. i just cut em off and hard wired LEDs in.

The visor/vanity lights are 30mm by 4mm festoon and are common for Chrysler/Dodge. autolumination.com has them, but superbrightleds.com does not.

I just had one of my cluster bulbs burn out on me, So LED conversion time it is. I hand built the bulbs for my other car, It was a royal pain. This time I'm going to give the premade type a whirl.

I've had 3 of the ones from superbrightleds.com burn out on me in my cluster, so I opted to erase the light diffusers on the back of the display and use some strands of smt leds. No hots spots at all, no dull green color, looks straight out of a lexus. I'll get some pics.

nice renix lights. i was wondering about the map lights on the front dome light. i've already installed the kick pannel stuff and the main cluster, and the glovebox, but i cant seem to figure out how to get to the bulb on the little map light thing. i take the dome cover off and see the festoon, so thats no prob, but it seems like the dome trim piece is riveted onto the ceiling of my jeep. anyone know how to get to these little bulbs?

Mine have a lock washer on them that you can pry off. I can see how maybe its different from the factory... to where it looks like its rivited... but i know that on my 90 there has always been that lock washer that can easily be re-used.

Oh and in the first post on this page that is mine .. when i said Dash, i meant just the cluster or the area behind the plastic panel/trim that goes around the cluster, radio, hvac etc.., not the whole dash.

Kinda. I took out the rest of the hatch marks out for the mph, rpm, oil, gas, voltage, and temp. I dunno if I like it yet though.

better pic, at night. I'm very happy with the way this turned out. It was quick and easy, still waiting on the rest of the LED's to get here though. The bulbs I used do not dim though, its the only draw back.

I never met anybody who used the dash dim function anyway, including myself.

Sure I've tried it just to say "meh I don't like how it looks all dim and chit!"
