Finding XJ parts locally....

So I need the parking brake equalizer and tension adjustment rod for my e brake to pass inspection and I can't find one anywhere. Haven't had time to head out to any junk yards only to find that someone has already pulled it. Anyone have some good leads on locating such things?

Your best bet would probably be to take a ride out to W-S to the pull-a-part on Patterson Ave. Can't remember if there are any other yards around High Point or Greensboro.

ended up going to AAA auto salvage and they had one on a TJ that I pulled....doesnt seem to fit quite right but it works and I passed
inspection...

I have never had a functional e brake on any XJ's I wheeled. Ive never had a problem with inspection either. You must have found a stickler.

They're getting tough all around. Had to rig up something on mine to pass inspection last year too. Never properly hooked it up since the 8.8 swap, just slapped something together so that if they pulled on the handle it would have tension on it and they "assumed" it worked.

Got me good to go for another year. Reminds me, inspection is coming up in January and there's some other issues now it needs fixed so it'll pass.

ended up going to a junk yard and pulling one off a TJ. hooked it up and ws good to go. told the manager at Firestone that I will never step foot back in there again and told him if I can stop anyone from going there, I would.

Parking brake must hold with the vehicle in gear.

Dennis(XJ Emporium) on NC4x4, parts out XJ's and might have what you need. He is in Stokesdale. We trade parts on occasion and he is a good honest guy. I also part out XJ's and have some parts left. I need to pick up another part out soon!
