finaly got an XJ 99 limited with some stuff

Ya I've been thinking about that, cage takes up too much interior room and makes it annoying to drive. We'll see what happens in a few months when I start the LS install.

In the past few weeks......

New shoes.

Last touches on the housing and steering stuff this weekend, just waiting on RCV for the shafts.

Only thing on the front axle I didn't do, brother TIGing the weld washer on the lower sheer steering bracket. Painting tomorrow and will go on after I get the shafts, the RCVs don't for through the unitbearing hole in the knuckle. Only draw back to them.

Aaaaand going kinda stupid on the LS, buddy who's family owns the shop is doin the 5.3 build for me. Went to town on the heads the past few weeks in his spare time, cam will be chosen late next month. 11:1 comp with a big cam and some injectors should get me 400+ with 450 the HP goal. We'll see.

Some guy had then posted for sale. Idk why but I bought them.

99% sure I'll sell both sets of wheels/tires to get Kevlars in 37"-40" for 17" method bead locks. Rumor has it though that Maxxis is releasing a street compound non-comp trep so..... That is of interest to me.

They are sold in AU (35" only) now and u believe the UK too. Thread over in pirate talks about them and someone called 4WP or Maxxis direct and got a 100% on nom-comp treps but date, sizes and price still isn't set. Believe it's before 2015 though

However after my axles are 100% I'll be concentrating on the interior and LS swap rather than new rubber. Already have 2 sets to play with when snows on the ground.

Nothing fits this is stupid!!!!

Nah just gotta grind and clearance the case since the ring gear hits, diff hits and I can't adjust anything.

Why what did you do?

In a few weeks I should be bringing my XJ up to a friends place in VT and test it out some. Should have a pic like this but of my rig in it.

All the tape says "RCV" on it, little hard to see. So, final axle install this week then finally some road testing!!!

this jeep is weird to me.

without the axles or tire, it looks like some 20 year old's XJ. add the tires and now it's a 20 year old who just got a good job and wanted crazy tires. add the axles and then its like why did you spend so much money on those axles to put them under a cherokee?

anyway, looks good. lol.

Went to VT.

After seeing that I have the turning radius of a tri-axle dump truck and a leaking PS line some upgrades are in the works.
Other than that it worked fine and made an ok log skidder.
