got an ercolina bender and i want to figure the spring back so i can do repeat bends acuratly. this might be a little advanced to be practical but i just want to get it fugured out

Springback is not a constant value, variables:
Material size
Material thickness
Material type
Degree of bend
Bend radius

Use Ercolina's control to your advantage. You may always need a test piece, but start the bend until the tube just deflects.

Cursor over to the movement figure, and hit enter.

Done.

Gee Ron, your so smart, i wish i was smart like you!!:worship:

JK i wish i had the cool toys like you rich guys. i am trying but my garage and bank accounts are just too small for now. ( only a three car garage with a side work area ):D

i usually go till the pad seats and ad my angle to it but i get a few degrees diffence on dom but with pipe i get it on the money everytime. with the dom it seams to pull out over 45 degrees. this is with 1.5 and 1.25 dom and 2inch schedule 40 it seems to be worse with smaller stuff.

If you are using your ercolina for large production runs, I would recommend keeping a log book of what the spring back and bend dimensions are for future use.

My experience with the ercolina bender is that they are better suited for production than one-off prototype work.

My best advice I can give you is to watch the wear on the brass follower die. It will wear over time and later when you plug in your old dimensions and don't get the same results, you will have to compensate.
