feeler: WTB trailer for towing jeep

I'm in the same boat - I think I will be renting from uhaul a few times first - only 49.95 a day for a car hauler. Have you thought about getting one of those two bars that attach to the front bumper (if you have a stock one). I've found a few cheap ones on ebay that I've debated about. Also a few trailers were on ebay around NW Indiana, IL if you are willing to travel a little.

Theres a place in southern IN that sells new 18' car haulers for $1400 plus tax. Ill see if I can get the info, I know one my buddies bought one from them, Ill get over there and get a pic and info.

hey Kris, do those $1400 trailers have new tires?
Pat, I think they have new wheels but used tires. Ill get in touch with my buddy to find out for sure. I think the place is in Corydon IN, but cant remember the name.

I really want a used one cheap that I can make my own. We plan on using it as a dry place to sleep when it rains at haspin so I'll want a wooden one. Plus I found 4x8 sheets of plastic board. About 1/2 inch thick that I want to use as the flooring under my tent area on the trailer. Sounds crazy right?

I double checked - its not a fulldeck, but if you want the link I can throw it up. You may be able to make it a full deck - looks like a homemade trailer.

49.95 +10/ day.

Depending on where you are going.

Tell them you will drop it across town, closest U-Haul place.

I made the mistake of telling them I was going to Attica.....BIG $$ mistake.

And if you want a new trailer...try this place.

My father in law just bought a 16' tandem with brakes on one axle. He priced that place you are talking about, Shoemakers, and found a place cheaper in Terre Haute. I'll get the name and number from him.

yeah i stopped by there today and they have a 16+2 with brakes on both axles for $1395. but i'm not sure i'm comfortable with the idea of used tires. they did not appear to be trailer tires either.

'preciate it.

I really want a 18'+2 so the name and number would be great.

As long as you're looking . . . don't skimp on the brakes. You want brakes on both axles, whether they are required in your state or not (they are in Illinois).
