Feedback Request on Jeepspeed Build

I want to race a Jeepspeed Jeep but I'm in the planning phase as no funds.

I have a jeep and a Suburban which I've raced twice. It has too small of a cage so I can't race it anymore.

I thought about taking alot of the shocks, window nets, etc from it for a Jeepspeed project. The idea of putting out the least additional funds possible.

Tonight I just thought about narrowing the 14 bolt rear as it has a limited slip and 4.88's

Also thought about using the front Dana 44 axle center section and doing custom axle tubes and axles.

My shocks are fox 2.0's (8's front and 12's rear).

Once I get a faster internet connection I can figure out if the cost of the axle stuff will be an immediate eliminating factor.

Hoped to get your thoughts, feedback and suggestions on the axle swap and also the build in general.

14 bolt really? I wize person once said (who had built a dana 60 for a "trophy turck/ truggy") "The heavier the rearend the faster it will fall in the whoops..."

Well what he meant was "whoops, I have no XXXXing clue what im doing"

leave it in the suburban and build an 8.8 for budget or a 9 inch...
That 14 bolt will rip the unibody right out of the xj. lol

The 44 center section and your own axel tubes would be supreme... Just remember lighter is faster!

Did you guys get flooded out of oregon with the rain?

If $ is the issue build a 8.8, you can get them cheap all day long and there stronger then a 44. If you can spend the $ and build a 9".

Check out Larry's build, he built a sweet 8.8. Look for a 95+ Explorer/Mercury Mountaineer, you'll get 31 spline axles, big bearing ends,3.25 dia/.250 wall axle tubes, disc brakes, for around $250.
