February gear install class.

I am ASSumeing that it is a one day deal.

It looks like 5 people so far. 2xtreme, Girlscout, LockedstockXJ, Xjourney, You(Trainwrexj)and your "possibly" your buddy.

I know 2xtreme is pulling his axle, I am bring my axles unattached. Not sure about Lockedstockxj, Trainwrexj, and Girlscout.

John(avanteone) has only TWO lifts for rigs with axles still installed.
And Jimbar said he prefers axles to be pulled, for ease of install.

So basically I know nothing.

Hans

I want more info on who is coming and what is going to be done. Please post if you are coming to work, or coming to spectate. Please post if your axle(s) will be loose or IN the vehicle. Please post exactly what is being done (complete ratio change, locker install /w existing ratio, etc). I have (2) two-post style lifts to work on vehicles /w axles installed. I have two mobile carts taht will support axles at working heigth. I also have LOTS of jackstands to support loose axles. This is going to be an ALL DAY THRASH if we get too many people coming, I just want to get an idea going now. This will be ONE DAY as I have plans Sunday. My parts suppliers are also open Saturday's and deliver in case we need brake parts, bearings, seals, etc. I have plenty of gear oil, etc. on hand. Any parts that are required I will sell at my cost plus sales tax. IF you need gears, install kits, etc. I will also pass on a good deal but need to know what you want a week or so BEFORE this happens.

John

Axles removed, cleaned and painted.
Dana 30 hp from 3.55 open to 4.56 Truetrac :) (not the same one I pm'd you about, a brand new one)
Chry 8.25 from 3.55 open to 4.56 open

With Mirror Pond and cash for shop owner, supplies and pizza.

Hans

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Mirror Pond... for anybody who is bringing beer for Jimbar, keep it locked in your rig until AFTER the event, unless you want this to turn into an over-nighter :)

John

Intending to show up as a spectator to look, listen, and learn, assuming our car pool thing out of Yakima doesn't fall through.

I will be there with my D35 non c-clip axle removed.
Going from 4.88's open to the same 4.88's with Detroit.
New bearings were installed recently.
I have a mini install kit that I am bringing with me.

Cash for shop owner and pizza.

Michael

i will be there for sure with my axles attached, as i don't have another way to GET there!!

dana 35: 3.55 --> 4.56 open
dana hp30: 3.55 --> 4.56 open

i'll need to pick up install kits. any advice on where i can get them for a reasonable price between now and then, or if it's something i could get from one of john's suppliers on the day of?

if this will be a problem with people having already laid claim to the lift, i am willing to relinquish my spot. reasons being, as previously partially stated, my junk is my DD and not only that, i don't have a place here to remove axles or a way to get them there for that matter.

wow, those were some very poorly-constructed sentences. i'm ashamed of myself!!

my buddy with the TJ may come if i can get him to yank his axles out so i can bring them with.

long-windedly yours,
walter.

I'll speak for Matt (lockedstock) because he's not around today...

He'll be there with his, doing front and rear, axles are still in the Jeep. He's got the 30 front and Chrysler rear. He's got both master kits and a new front carrier, will be reinstalling lock-rights front and rear. I'll likely be there helping him turn wrenches. We'll have cash and brew for shop owner and instructors. :D Front end disassembly should be fairly simple because we just did new hubs, brakes, and axle shafts. ;)

I should be there to watch listen and learn possible with a friend along, as well as Bruce. I may bring my D60 over to re-shim it, as when i pulled the carrier to change o-rings on the ARB it fell out with out any help. that seems loose to me. I will know more in the coming weeks.

If i am there I would like to get in on helping you guys since I have the same set up....have to see if I actually make it there though.

Have had some family issues. As much as I want to go, this is not a priority, until we get back on top of everything.

I know Brian wants to hit this up, but haven't gotten dates to him yet.
