Favorite winter camping!?

I want to go camping this weekend and figured I would throw out a feeler for everyones favorite spots. I personally love everything up around highway 2 and wrightwood as well as the San Jacinto range up over into hemet. San Bernadino into runnign springs and big bear is great, especially when i want to board but it is just too cold for a tent at most all these places.

This time of year I like to head out to Anza Borrego.. There are a lot of really nice, quiet places out there.

We'll be camping & wheeling in Truckhaven (just west of the Salton Sea, in/next to Anza Borrego, this coming weekend. Not necessarily always quiet, but not freezing, either!

You could have plenty of fun running the washes and stuff. I'm sure someone will offer a seat for some of the more challenging runs.

There is a lot of fairly mellow terrain out there, which is likely to be manageable by a 2wd 4cyl. Just be sure you're with someone in another vehicle, as line-of-sight gets scrambled quickly; there are washes, hills, you name it. If you came out this weekend, there would be at least 5 or 10 4wd XJs out there to play around with. I have a 80lb rott/shep riding shotgun/b!tch with me, but I'm sure there will be free seats if you want to just go explore as a passenger, too.
