The doors arent my style, but, nice to see that you arent just another grandpa rollin in a stock cherokee with mudflaps. Maybe when you get some funds and skills youll have yourself a set of some sweet tube doors.

anyway...if it wernt for the law id say just go doorless, but work with what you got...atleast you took your doors off...i like that better than an xj with doors. (there rock magnets anyway, right?)

Yeap, you got it Yoda, just doin it for Johnny Law. I was going to do wood but I hate splinters! But I think I have a few fancy wood table legs around here... I was going to use round tube and bolt that together, just too cheap to buy it now. It might look better without all of those holes drilled in it.

I was going to finish them today but thunderstorms changed my plans.

It is certainly summer here, and I've decided to go doorless. But, PA laws (and parents) require that I have some type of doors and a mirror on each side.

I don't really have any spare money since I'm off to college in August, so I didn't want to spend a dollar for a good set of tube doors. I've found nearly all the materials I need to make em, and almost all the tools I need to make them with. The only thing I don't have is a welder and of course, welding skills.

So I'll just let the pictures do the talking for now.

They don't swing out like normal doors since there is only one tube. They go up like lambo doors! :laugh: I have a cool latch thing that goes on the other end to keep the door down. I'll bend up some smaller round tube to put the mirrors on. I had a lot of square tube so thats just what I used to make the doors. They look so-so, but I hate the hinges I had to use, kinda chinsey.

They aren't quite done (latches, mirrors, paint), and I was wondering what people thought of them before I finished them (to see if its worth it. I know they are really fugly, but they will serve their purpose).

Just looking for some criticism. Will they be good enough to run for three months or have I just demoted myself to ricer?

not trying to be a dick here but my gawd. You never took shop class have you? You might as well replace it with a 2x4 or better yet a tree branch because although you think it might serve a purpose, it doesnt since that material is not going to be strong enough for any type of reinforcement nor for any collision. Its simply not safe enough.

What are you trying to truely accomplish? It doesnt look like you wheel hard enough for the need to go doorless. If you are wanting to remove the doors to prevent any damage, you are better off to get some rock rails or PMW door guards.

Your putting yourself out there when you put pictures up in this section. God knows how many people can view these. Your going to get assholes no matter where you are at. One of the reasons my name is red is the honesty around here. If I put something up thats messed up or unsafe, stupid, whatever I want to here opinions on it. Some people don't realize this when they use the new thread button. I for one can not think of a site where people can post goofy, wierd, fucked up, stupid, or unsafe mods to there jeep where they will not catch some shit for it.
