Fall Flog 09 pictures...

Nope, gonna put one in.

Why? Same joint. You tack your caps on alloy shafts and I bet your joint issues will go away in the front.

True about the same joint but I have broken shafts up front also not just the joints. Hopefully with a stronger shaft I can upgrade the joints and really not have any more trouble.

If they make it, Mark can break it. Don't you remember Morris Mountain??

So what size tires you going to? I would recomend xj width by the way.

plus the housing/ring gear/tubes will be stronger

True. I got a '78-'79 F250 housing with 1/2" tubes. BEEFY!!!!

That's not nice.

I'm gonna stay on 35's for now. The axle has been narrowed to stock Waggy width. I didn't want to go full width.

so you have a d30 up front? didnt know that.

Yep, good ole D30. I have beat on it pretty hard, you can ask, and I have broke it too. Never had an issue with a R&P like some have, cough Tyler, cough.

how can we forget! haha...

Broke both front and rear. Man that sucked!!!!

I have seen this before!

Well, with the 44 you will have locking hubs, so you will be able to run some type of super-joint with some alloy shafts and the breakage will decrease. With the 30, you are limited on the type of joint because they have to remain street friendly. SO, while the joints are still classified as a 760 type, a super joint wont break like a spicer. Mark, I would recommend Bobby Longs...

That's what I was thinking Tyler. The locking hubs would be the only way I could run a joint like a BLong.

exactly.... im due for a set of bobbys myself... i just noticed today i cracked a cap in an alloy usa xjoint, it didnt spit the joint, just cracked a cap ;)

I ran the yukon joint and hated them. Very jerky and comes with a crappy grease gun and special grease.

Ghost, must you hate everything that it actually worth having? 8.8s, chevy engines, dana 44s, super u-joints, etc, etc, etc, are all on you dislike lists... Yet you like 2.5L Jeep engines??? I don't get it.

Lol, just had to poke some fun.

I myself am running stock parts as in axles and u-joints, no high dollar stuff yet, but it seems to be doing pretty good. I did have to fully weld the u-joint caps in on the pass side front axle though because the ears were egg shaping! The long side has been fine, I guess since the shaft has more twist it takes some of the abuse off of the joint.
