Factory alarm on a 91?

So what I'm hearing you all say is that if I want remote door lock/unlock then I should probably look to the aftermarket for an entire security system...

I can unlock mine from about three to five feet away... just need a clean line of sight from the transmitter to receiver.

not exactly, that half-round thing is just the receiver for the key fob, does it does not mean you have a factory security system

I'm curious... on a 1991-92 Cherokee, where did the factory locate the receiver if it doesn't have an overhead console?

The other plus is that all the doors unlock at once as opposed to unlocking your driver door and having all the passengers try to open theirs as you are hitting the power unlock switch, then locking and unlocking them again and there is still somebody who insists on trying to open their door causing you to go through the same routine again or reaching over and using the manual button.....
sure this has happened to most of us more than once!

They have a little plastic piece that goes where the ovehead console does...

It has a little dome hanging down.

Don't have a pic of one.

On a plastic trim piece between the two sun visors.

The little black dome is just the lock/unlock receiver, AFAIK it doesn't have a dedicated alarm disarm wire, the alarm just sees the unlock wire activate and assumes that means it should disarm since you succeeded in unlocking the doors.
