Explorer 4:10 8.8

Does anyone know what explorers came with the 4:10? meaning what motor and trans? I know 95^ are the disc rears.. Im on the hunt for one as my 33's are killing the power and i need to regear anyway..

look for axle code 42 (open) or D2 (limited slip) on the sticker inside the drivers door. I have had good luck finding them in 2 door sports.

You'll have good luck if you look for a v6 model.

It will give you the specs for for different vehicles. Looks like most of the Eddie Bauers and Limiteds came with them.

Also you can go to carpart.com and search yards near you for one.
The ones listed as V6 models are the same rear end as V8's... No difference.
I got my last one for $100 less because the guy said it was only a V6 rearend and not a V8 rearend:roflmao:
Hold out for one with disc brakes, they make it worth the swap alone especially if ya do the booster upgrade as well.
