Exo-cage idea help(searched)

here are pics or the design i would like to do something similar to, and add supports like the 2 door cage has around the fender bars more, and add a b-piller bar. I wanna tie it into the rack mounts and gutters, also do a spare tire carier like the 4 door also.

how come you cant run an exo halo, maybe exo a-pilar protection, but an internal diagonal, and internal b-pillars... I helped put together a cage for a friend this way... all the strength of an internal, all the space of an external...

im 6'-4" and I was more than comfortable in the front seats of the finished caged XJ...

Personally - B-pillars that attach to a 1' cantalevered arm at the bottom of rockers are not what im intersted in... B-pillars, C-pillars - all should attach to a nicely re-enforced set of uni-body rails... at the rails...

A halo above the roof to keep head-room, and a internal bracing is the best way to go...

I dont run a cage yet 'cuse i dont have the time to make one right... and will drive like I dont have a cage untill I can afford the time to make one right...

I have given this thought and realy, REALY like the idea. Half ento, half exo would be ideal. I have seen some made vary well. I would perfer to do something like this rather then just a full exo.

What is the best set up for sealing around tubes that go from exo to ento? Might be helpfull to just build a rack that is intergrated into the ento.. if you get my drift. Basicly turning the halo into the rack.

the best method is to just weld the body to the tube that runs through from the outside cage to the inside cage. that is what i am going to do on mine, and since you have a good solid cage the body wont flex and tear out at the through tubes.

Like radardog said, weld the roof to the tubes when the cage is done.
