got my full width axles in the yard. now just gotta save up to get them regeared and get the brackets.
dana 44 front, (welded brackets)
ford 9" rear

doubt my welder will be up to the task of burning in the brackets, but i'll get some one to.

thanks to t-frady for getting me the hook up on the tow. his uncle pull a whole 77f150 from concord to dallas for cheap.

Cool, If I didn't have so much money in my 30 I'd go full width. It hurts my mind to think about starting to build another axle.

With just a 5 minute brain storm I came up with this:

Alloy Axles and 760 joints - 600
E - Locker - 800
5ish Gears - 400
Truss and gusseting - Free
Bracket kit - 465
Machine knuckles - 100
Steering arms - 150
Ball joints - 100
Hubs - 100
Bearings - 50
Mod steering to fit - free

$2765

If I can sell my built D30 for $2500 I'll go for it! :) I could put a mini-spool in it and save 800 bucks, use stock shafts and save 600 bucks, and make my own brackets and save 500 bucks. All the rest of the stuff I'd pretty much have to buy... $900 I've already got the axle... Debating about selling it.

I'm with ya, i polished my turdy to but I'm happy with it! I beat on it hard and its held up just fine. I just can't bring myself to full width yet but there be a day when I will.......

i kinda know what you mean. ive put alot into mine also. just been looking to go full width for so long

no prob with the help we will try to finish the floor thurs

Speaking of axles, does anyone wanna buy the one that I have?!

I have no idea what it came out of tho. I do know it's a Ford Dana 44. Full width, the castings are still on it, it does not have flat top knuckles. Calipers, rotors, and knuckles are still on it. No hubs, needs a complete rebuild (Which I hope the individual would do anyway) Stock 3.73 gears.

Some guy told me like 400 bucks but Idk bout that... What'd you pay for them?

Post some pictures up. If you cna find the BOM number you can run it at the Dana site. The only advantage of a full width IMHO is the deeper gears. I kinda miss my 33" d30'd xj. ;)

I hear ya and aside from lower gears the D-30 is upgradeable easily now. I have the Bobby Longfield (RCV) shafts and 4.88's and with a full case locker(soon to come), 35's are no issue anymore. I like the ground clearance of the smaller pumpkin as well. Its all a balancing act! More strength, less clearance/ more clearance, less strength:dunno:

I think full width is cool but I like the stock width for a street driver/weekend warrior better. If my junk were trailered I would go full width sooner than later.

Where would the BOM number be?

Glenn, This is the first and last time I've seen your Jeep. I hear it looks a lil different now. lol

I just noticed you had synthetic line then. How did you like it? Would you suggest I got with it? And which one?

Master Pull is a supporter I would shoot him a pm or check out his sight. I love it. I jsut wish I had the removable hook that was on the first line I had.

If i remember correctly he wasn't really beating on it hard when it went. I think they decided it was just a stress fracture type deal that finally gave up.

^^Sweet! That's beatin' on a 9"! Hadfield snapped a alloy shaft last weekend beatin' on his.

Yea kodak rock, Uwharrie National forrest. I have broken more stuff there then anywhere. It is rumored to be an easy park too. :shhh:

Yea we think that I hit it on the rock going up to Kodak. No way to know for sure. I locked both tcases in and tried to "bump" it. LOL!

Here's mine. On the same day, same rock. lol That was when I learned my lesson about not airing down.

I thought I remember seeing a video of this on here somewhere. But it was way better to see in person. I love the PING! that I herd when that happened. I didn't have real damage other then a broken O2 Sensor and a crushed exhaust. But my jeep was little then basically stock, not so much any more.

That was the first time I met Glen and the last time as well lol sometime soon hopefully.
