I work at a boat shop and we use forklifts to move the boats around on trailers (hitch ball on fork). One day one of the idiots that used to work there (pothead) didn't look behind him, hit the gas and almost hit me and a customer! It is easy to get cocky and stupid on one of those.

Judging by all the black smoke from the exhaust I would say that it was running terrible. Maybe he was trying to keep it running long enough to move it and it got away from him? Either way, grab a broom.

If they got them out from under all that, I'd expect them to be extremely drunk just from skin absorption.

I wouldn't be suprised, when I worked at the local OSCO Drug Store I could get buzzed from just mopping up some of the big spills!

HOpefully that roof protected the guy! I wonder if it was equipment failure or driver failure though, that black puff don't look good!

Crazy how the first row buckled the second row to head down onto him too!

Idk, I have seen some propane forks give a quick black puff. Not when they were running 100%, but they weren't "dead" by any means.

I still miss driving the old fork truck around walmart once it closed down and we were removign the old shelving. Playing dominos with the empty shelves and a good fork truck power slide to get them going.... now that was what I call an entertaining job.

Edit: I didn't notice teh 2nd puff of smoke after the lift was already started... hmmmm

I think that might have been an orange rotating light.
