Engine Rust Removal

Im cleaning up my XJ and one of my projects is going to be getting all the rust off the engine and related components. Does anyone have any advice, whats worked for you all?

what components have rust??? most engines especially the Jeep is covered in enough oil that there is not rust...

only thing you can really do is get a wire bush and start... there is no quick fix. POR-15 is a good paint if its on non HOT parts that you would like to prevent rust on for future rust.

If the engine is pulled and stripped, you have more options.

POR-15 is a good paint if its on non HOT parts.

I have had POR-15 drip on exhaust (close to the header). 6 years later its still looks fresh.

There is rust on the headers and a few other pieces around the engine, Im going to try my best to tackle this project without pulling the motor.
