Engine coils..........

Just wanted to see what anyone has to say........
My XJ was not starting so i pulled a plug and tested the COIL no spark at all. So i went down to my local parts depot and got a new one, put it on and turned key.....nothing......then i turned the key back and forth 3 or 4 time ( i read in a post that this does something to computer mabey reset ? ) and whamo she starts up just fine .
??????????? Any input will be nice. I did not want to post in OEM it runs now so we will see time will tell. Thanx 4 the input in advance !!!

Often enough when there's no spark it's a problem with the crankshaft position sensor. Seems like in your case it wasn't. Problem solved would be good enough for me!

It can also be an intermittent issue with the CPS that will show up again when you are least likely prepared for a no-start condition.
