Electrical pump noise when I hit brake pedal.

When I hit the brake pedal whether the engine is running or not there is an electrical pump noise coming from the front left wheel well what is this? Thanks for any tips! 2000 sport.

Do you have ABS? I bet you do and it's your ABS pump running or actuating an ABS stop. Do you feel any pedal modulation in your foot when you press the brake? Is the ABS light on?

No ABS on the car, it happens the second I brush the pedal before I get into any hydraulics in the system so I believe that it is related to the brake lights. The noise sounds like a small electric pump or electric whine. The noise is from behind the front bumper and below the airbox. Wierd...

there is a vacuum reservoir inside the bumper. check the line going to it.

The vacuum reservoir is on the pass side tho
