Electric Speedometer?

I'm in the process of replacing all my stock gauges with VDO vision gauges in my 87xj. Only problem i ran into is that the speedometer i bought is electrical, and the old stock one is mechanical. Does anyone know if the 97-01 xjs had a electrical sender? or if anything else will bolt into place? thanks...

93+ has an electrical sender that mounts on the transfer case out put.

It may send the output to the computer, as I recall that I could not get the electronic guage to work with just the speed sender.

I think i saw a one of the shorty AA SYE's with an electronic speed sender, or maybe it was a JBConversions one.
