Does this kit mount with the fan pulley in place?
Yes, the kit comes with replacement bolts to replace the fan pulley studs.

I have one of the older fan kits, could you get me a price for just the new shorud? It would def make things run cooler.
Here is another little video about how I have been running it cooler than 210 and if you think it might have mpg drops increase running hotter.
Why do you have a fan turn on at 180, and what thermostat do you have?
Mine has 190k miles, stock thermostat (195 iirc), just went to 31s (stock 3.55s), and I only have the stock electric fan. I pulled the mechanical fan almost a year ago and have been planning to add a 2nd stock fan, just haven't yet. The fan only kicks on when I stop and idle a while. On my daily commute I don't think it ever kicks on. I get about 17-18 mpg.
Do you live in the arctic? Only 1 fan? Wow. Pretty crazy man.
Wow. That's cool. I wasn't trying to be a dick, I just didn't know you could do that.

Watch the video, the one-fan is only enough to slow down the rate that the coolant heats up and isn't enough by itself to cool the engine down. So turning on the one fan early keeps the engine cool longer. It would certainly be viable to just wait for ~210 then turn on 2 fans to cool it down but the 1-fan to slow down the rate of temperature rise is also viable.
I have wheeled with many guys that only have one stock fan, mechanical or electric and they always overheat on the trail. So you must be lucky!
........As for temp vs. mpg I think hotter is better. I have no worries with running 220 or a little hotter. I you're going for power then 200 is a fine target. I do notice that I have a little less power when fully hot. I don't see the point in turning on a fan before the thermostat is open. That's just a waste.
