Electric Cooling Fan CFM Rating Tests - DirtBound Offroad

Alright got it installed, and took it for a spin, defiantly makes the fans cycle off faster. This is not the final design or mounting, I did this for my jeep and to do the proof of concept.

Tomorrow after I get the aluminum bent I will have the final design done.

I am uploading a short video of me driving around and showing the temperature movement.

Can you do a straight overhead or from the drivers side shot of the fans and shroud to show the clearance between the fans and the pulleys? Your last pic is almost there, if you took a step or two to the left side it would be perfect.

There is a 1/2" gap, my eninge is shifted forward though so I am on the extreme side of clearances.

I have JeeperJohn motor mounts so they will not move any closer, I have never figured out why my drivetrain is pushed forward.

The new shroud is no further towards the engine than the old mount.

There is about 1/2" - 3/4" from fan blade to radiator.

Yes a set of good HD motor mounts are a must for any type of offing. So your not incurring any additional cost just for the fan setup.

First one ready for photos, I need to drill the upper mounting holes and rivet the bottom tabs on but it is ready to ship.

This first version does not have individual dividers, I need to do more research on how that will work and fitment of the shroud and how it mounts.

The bends look a ton better when done on a real machine.

How about pricing? I can't fit a stock elec fan in my XJ anymore without destroying the blades on the power steering pulley and I don't feel safe trusting the el-cheapo 10" ebay fan for a 4000mi trip this summer.

edit, never mind... I see it in the fan kit on your website now. :D

So it's only available with the shroud now?

I think it will be, Making it the old way is cheap. But it is time consuming because the two pieces cant easily be made from a template.

This is a lot more rigid now.

If there is a lot of demand I can do it with the old version but it still might be 10 or 15$ more than the old price.
