ECORS DPG - Nov 13, 2010

I've got a toy run I commited to here in town. Did you find a co-driver?

Heard about the knuckle Chris...major bummer!!! Hope you were able to get it back on the trailer fairly easily.

Yup. DNF in the first lap. Short side axle snapped and while I was forcing it off the trail the ball joint went. Either I'm running my junk to hard, or being 19 years old (the XJ that is) is just catching up with it.

Already have a list of mods for next season. I will post up some videos and photos after the video gets done enoding.

Nick, I couldn't find the guy with parts. Sorry about that man. I had to hit the road as soon as I broke so I could get back to Charlotte, pick up the tow rig and get back to DPG to load my junk up.

Loading went fairly well. Hi-lifted it on to a piece of plywood and ski'd it up on to the trailer. Thanks to anyone that was around and helping.

we need a WCORS...this looks like a blast but i wont have the resources to do it untill i move back home to oregon.

i would be getting a devoted rig. as much as i would like bragging rights for winning with a street driven xj such as mine, i just dont think i would be able to push it as hard as i want to.

love my xj. pains me to hurt it :D

but if i got a cheap trail beater....thats entirely different.

No problem, it was a long shot anyways. Are you going to rebuild the d30 or swap?

The pointers leader up until half way through the last lap of the last race spent $500 on his XJ. Welded the rear and called it a day. That joker raced his XJ like it was on fire and was still able to keep it in one piece for most of the races.

The decision is still very up in the air as to what I will have under if for season 2. I will be putting a new ball joint and stock axle shaft back in it. I asked over in the JeepSpeed section for recommendations.

I will likely be moving to chromoly shafts in the front and an 8.25 in the rear if someone will sell me one (in good condition). A roll cage is a must. OTK will be going on it if I keep the D30. I also need new rims and tires as all four rims are dented and I have to get 16" rims to get rid of the nasty 1.5" spacers I have to run because of the WJ conversion. So 16" rims and new 33" Maxxis Bighorns are fairly high on the list of things to have done before Season 2.

I hate to plug myself, but I am only able to race because I basically work a second job doing contract web development work. If anyone knows anyone that needs web work done, I'd love the referral. I have an online portfolio, reference, the whole nine I can provide to serious prospective clients.

I have 29 spline 8.25 stuff sitting around. Send me a PM if are interested.
