I'll be headed up to Alpine with the family for the weekend and planning on running DV and SR. Has anybody run DV from Hermit Valley yet this year? Just wanting to make sure the trail is open, at least up to the lookout area where we stopped last year. If anybody is headed up there I'll be staying in one of the cabins at the Alpine Resort.

I am sure its open.

the only down side is, that they are going back to the drawing board on fixing DV.

They might not even start work on DV until 2016 :(

It is still open to the top or the first crossing (whichever it was). I drove by last weekend and saw the little paper sign was still up.

I'll probably just head up to the top and go back down. But that long hill down to the crossing is so fun to go back up. Not that hard, but fun anyway.

UGH! If I knew about this sooner I would have LOVED to join you guys. HAVE FUN!
Too bad you can't make it. Well, hopefully I'll see ya next month.

Oh yeah - definitely gonna be there. The last time I was up there was the infamous "LOOK UP" trip - hahaha

hahaha...That was my last trip on that trail as well. Good times man.

Just got back. Didn't run Slick Rock beyond the waterfall area so no idea how that trail looks this year since up to that point is all just 2wd.

Ran DV up to the top and back down. There where no signs anywhere saying trail closed at any specific point. I just went back after having some lunch at the top anyway. It didn't look like there had been anybody up that trail for awhile either. It was definitely more difficult than when we ran it last summer. There were some large rocks that have moved into the trail that made a couple of the spots very hard to get by without hitting body panels. Usually I can get up to the top without hitting diff's or rails. Not this time. I nailed both diff's pretty good, had to use the rails to get over/around a couple of rocks and bent the crap out of one of my horns stuffing the front. So, overall, it was fun. :D Don't have much for pic's, but will post a few later.

As promised, a couple of photos. Hopefully they don't go away again like the first fender pictures did.
The Lake early Saturday morning..

A couple trail pic's. My daughter was taking the pic's and didn't get much in the way of action shots, but here are a couple anyway. They would both rather be in the Jeep when doing the fun stuff than taking pictures of it.
