Durango Box or Hydro Assist

what about using a durango box with a wj pump?

ive got hydro assist, the only recommendation i have is match up everything you get. going slow mine does fine, but i dont take mine over 40 mph...it gets quite twitchy and is very sensitive.

I tried that. Talk about sensitive at highway speeds. Scratch your nose and you are over three lanes.

The problem is that if you boost it at slow speeds, it also boosts it at high speeds. The pumps are more or less linear in their response to rpms. Adding an external ram cuts the sensitivity due to the larger area but increases the force that can be applied. I've been toying with running a shorter pitman arm.

good point - mine never goes over 50 mph and when i do i keep it straight- forgot how twitchy it can be since mine has been immobile for almost a year now

nobody ever responds to what I say in threads.........

Disapointed nobody followed you on your thread hijack. If you want to ask a seperate question, how about opening a seperate thread. :dunno:

I think it is going to boil down to what you want to deal with, the durango or yj box, or the hydro assist.
That's why I love this site, people have all tried different things, and people have had different experiences with different setups. I like these opinions, and I think I am getting a better grip on this steering stuff too....

Not hijacking the thread, but is the RK steering OTK shaggy????

not really OTK as in like using high steer arms, but it does put the tie rod over the arm as opposed to under the arm.

sorry, but I thought it was kinda on subject. I digress.....

Not a problem, but if you want responses on a particular config, it helps if it shows up in the title where everybody can see. Many people may never look in that thread and at that exact post and read the last line. I would have answered, but I have no experience with that product.
