:roflmao: You could probably find out.
I emailed the State of TN with:
I have a Jeep Cherokee and was considering making the doors removable
(similar to a Jeep Wrangler). What are the rules for this? Can you point
me to the applicable state regulation for this?
And received this:
Darrell Miller ([email protected]) said:There is no State law that regulates doors on vehicles. You are permitted to do this.
I think that is what we have been saying. The law/rule is federal and is for the rear view mirrors. If you look you will find that federal regs require at least 2 working rear view mirrors on a vehical.
are there any laws about cruising around with no doors here?
Yep and it does not have to be one of the mirrors on the passenger side. I found that out when I got my first car: 91 cherokee with only a driver's door mirror and the rear view mirror. There was a factory delete plate over the location on the passenger door.
i've been driving in GA with out doors on my yota for a few weeks now with out mirrors and i've been fine
NOT RELATED BUT i just road around in my neighborhood with the windshield down and it was alot of fun... i really need to get my roll cage finished up so i can ride like that on the trails![]()
I'd get a mirror on there to avoid a ticket. If you get pulled and they get irritated its something they can add to it.
