so i took the leap to go doorless. got everything welded up perfect all the bolts fit, everything is good. i went to put the doors back on today and they wont drop into the brackets. i part of the door frame right above the mirror is hitting the frame on the Jeep and it wont let me move it any farther. i'm only like a quarter inch short of getting the top to drop in. the bottom goes in fine but i cant get the top pin at the right angle so it drops in the hole. after lots of cigarettes and swear words i said f*ck it. gimme some help here fellas. i'm about to burn the sum bitch to the ground.

Maybe cut 1/4" off the length of the pins you're using?

Without pics, it's hard to understand. I had removeable doors on my first XJ, an '84, and I never used fixed pins, I had just removed the original hinge pins and replaced them with bolts - the doors would just come together inside each hinge and I'd drop the top bolt in first, then the bottom.

:dunno:

yeah...i cut the shit out of the bolts took off like 1.50 off the top and about 1 off the bottom. just had to get more pissed apparently. got 'em on yesterday. good timing too. thanks.
