Door Speaker Depth?

anyone happen to know how much depth there are in the front doors? I'm on a shopping spree to replace the front door speakers and I need to know how deep the door is in that area.

i dont know off hand, take you speaker out and measure it.

check out crutchfield.com they will tell you which speakers will fit without any mods.

I don't have the exact dimenions. I can say this. I have 6.5's mounted in my door, and there is still another inch of availible depth before the magnet will reach the glass. If you want, I have a pic that I can post up this evening or tomorrow.

If it's just a standard speaker, you will probably run into diameter issues before you max out the depth.

I mounted 6.5 polk audio speakers in my doors and back roof

my door speakers only call for 5 1/4" and I have the sound bar in my xj and those are 6 1/2"

I've had luck with most brands fitting in my 2000 at the 6.5 inch size. Only problem i have ever run into are 6.5 inch memphis msync components are too deep for the doors in my 98, so i had to move to a 5.25.
In my 2000 ive had infinity, mtx, and finally jl all components. 98 ive only tried the memphis.

Mounting depth on the front door speakers is only an issue with the 97+ models, due to the full length glass.

The original poster has a 95, which he failed to mention. The glass will not interfere with the speaker. So you can pretty much put any 5.25" or 6.5" speaker in there.
