Door Locks/Passenger Window

Ok, so ever since I replaced my window regulator on my passenger window, the passenger door would NOT lock even if you try to push the lock with your fingers...it won't budge...well today I went to unlock my doors (with keyless entry, oem) and it wouldn't lock or unlock so I had to use my key....I thought my batteries in my remote were dead so I bought new ones....didn't work....so i went to try to lock and unlock the doors with the button inside the jeep on the door and nothing, so what does that mean needs to be fixed? is the motor just shot or the button? Right now, I am having to lock/unlock using my key which I don't really like....

Also, my passenger side window will only roll down when it wants too....like I said, I replaced the motor/regulator not even a year ago and not sure what the problem is....
 
Make sure the lock didn't move while you had the door panel off. Meaning, if it was unlocked when you took it off, make sure you didn't accidentally lock it (bump the arm) then put it back unlocked in the locked position. I had that same problem when I first did a window regulator on that side and had to pull it back off again.

Is the window working on it's own from the passenger controls, or from the driver controls? If the driver controls work all the time and the passenger controls work sporadically, that's a common issue on the late models and is a problem with the lock out switch. Easy fix for it is to wire in a jumper to bypass the lock out switch. If you're interested I have a write up of it saved on my computer in a word document.

I hate having to use a key.....that is so 90's! :)

The window is not working from either the passenger or drivers controls....my girlfriend did manage to get it to roll down on Satruday, but then wouldn't roll down again after she rolled it up...

Also with the door locks....This morning I hit the lock/unlock button on the passenger side and it WILL lock/unlock the back doors but do nothing for the drivers/passenger lock......
 
Windows? What are those? Locks are nice but with no widows whats the point? LOL! I'd pull it back apart and look at what you did and see if anything is different.

Hey don't be hatin on Jeeps with gadgets! Some of us like having creature comforts on the junk we wheel!

Ha, trust me. I wish I had keyless entry. Every time the family walks up to the car I hear feet tapping while I fumble for the keys to unlock my door then unlock theirs. Especially if it's cold or windy or rainy or snowy or the sun is too bright or it's too hot or it's too busy in the parking lot or if someone has a head ache or ... you get the point.

Look at the guy, he wheels once and gets mighty full of him self. Never mind he got stuck almost instantly :D

Drive your heep 6 hours to Kentucky, wheel for two days, then drive it back. After that, we'll talk :)

Then drive it to work for a year, wheeling 7 times in that year and drive it back to Harlan.......like some guy I know! :D
 
ok, so I went out to my jeep at lunch today and the door locks worked...then i went back out to leave for the day and no luck...then I drove around tonight and while I was driving, the door would just lock and unlock by themselves......

Well that settles it.... shot it its possessed! :wierd: :D
 
Lol, now it sounds like what i'm going through right now. Sounds like the master switch is failing. And I believe it's all part of the panel for the window switches too, so you'll have to replace that whole panel of switches on the door (it just pops out IIRC).

Damn Jeeps!
