does this look like a deal to you?

no. unless it has everything for it and an air tank, and dropped the price by 100$ or so.

I'd offer $450 and see where he comes back...

Then again I got both my axles for $400 off CL(4.10's & detroit trutrack/detroit locker).

i get most of my axles for free so anything over 0$ sucks.
but for others you can buy a geared and locked 30 for under 600$ and not have to deal with air hoses, tanks, solenoids, switches, additonal costs that add up fast . your 600$ locker turns into a 1000$+ project.

I don't think it's that bad. $450 would be killer! His MSRP is pretty high, but I don't think you'll find one for less than $800 with a compressor. Yes, it adds up, but you could go all air actuation for $25 using the compressor!

I got my ARBs in a similar situation as the seller and I paid $400 and $450, but that was years and years ago, before the price of them went up.

Now, all that said, I woudln't put that much money into a 30! :D

Billy

got my D30 with 4.56s an Aussie and a TnT truss for $400 and I picked up my narrowed 9" with 33 spline Mosers 4.56s and a mini spool for $400...scored these from Blonde Jon..Id low ball him some or have patience :)

Sure you can buy / build axles with lockers for less but if you are going to compare, you need to compare apples to apples.

In this case the question is about ARB lockers and compressor. I'd say his asking price is a good deal IF you can deal with this part "Could probably use new seals or at least be gone through". The last thing you want is for it to not be reliable, which in my experience ARB lockers are (reliable). That is also why I prefer to buy new so I know its going to work but that comes with a price.

x2...nothing worse then a malfunctioning ARB on the trail

I resemble that remark. An ARB must be in good condition and installed correctly or can be a hassle on the trail.

Well the guy worked at central 4 wd and he said the detroit got thrown away while he was with his wife who just had a baby but i got the 4 88 gears now all i need is the rear gears and i will be set oh ya and locked
